Welcome to the Walton and Weybridge District Scouts Recruitment pages. In this section you will find details of all the current roles and vacancies we have in the District. Please have a look at the different roles and if there is something that you are interested in, get in touch!
Each week we help over 600 young people in Walton and Weybridge Scouts to develop the skills to succeed in life. But this can only happen thanks to our 180 brilliant adult volunteers.
Unfortunately we also have a waiting list of about 450 young people! You could try volunteering in one of our
sections and give more people.
Volunteering is easier than you think. Whether you can spare an hour a month or a day a year, we have hundreds of opportunities both behind the scenes and directly supporting young people. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis.
Visit the Scouts HQ website to see what volunteering is all about any why it might be right for you.
All the roles vary in time commitment and we are strong
believers in Flexible Volunteering, meaning that the role can be adapted to fit
in around your other life commitments.
Not all roles need to be done by just one person, you may have one or
more friends or family members that would 'job share' with you.
You don't have to be an adventurer like Bear Grylls to get involved with Scouting. Do you have first aid knowledge? Are you good with numbers? Handy in the kitchen? Or are you a DIY whizz? We all have useful skills and you can volunteer and help in many ways.
As well as gaining externally recognized skills and having a
brilliant time, Scouting also offers the chance to build on personal skills,
like teamwork, confidence and leadership. A study found that over 90% of our
volunteers believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through
Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives.
Please see this page for the types of volunteer roles
available in Scouting.
Is your son / daughter on a waiting list to join one of the sections in our District? Priority for spaces is often available to young people who's parents volunteer with us. Find a role that suits you and sign up to get your child to the head of the queue!
To find out more, please email us and we will be delighted to hear from you.
