November, sadly, marked the passing of one of the great Scouters from the District, David Clark, or “Skip” as he was known. He reached the grand old age of 89.
Dave’s Service to Scouting was simply incredible and he was awarded Scouting’s Highest Honour ‘The Silver Wolf’ in recognition of this. He was 1st Hersham’s Group Scout Leader for 27 years and later Chairman for 5 years. He also served as our District Commissioner and later as our District President.
He was the epitome of all that a Scout Leader should be and worked tirelessly and selflessly for thousands of young people and adults in the District.
Rest in Peace Dave, you ‘Did Your Best’.
